On Friday, January 31, Plymouth High School hosted the 9th annual Plymouth High School Dance Marathon (PHSDM) benefiting Riley Hospital for Children. PHS students joined together for a 9-hour marathon involving dancing, eating, participating in games and activities, and most importantly, listening to Riley kids share their inspiring stories of hope. This is all done without sitting down for the full length of the dance marathon.
The money Plymouth High School raised will help fund the Magic Castle Cart program at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis as well as their Palliative Care Center.
The unique thing about the PHS Riley Dance Marathon is that the students don’t know how well they did in their fundraising efforts until the amount was unveiled during half time of Friday night’s home varsity basketball game.
During the halftime show, all PHS dancers performed the choreographed dance they learned at the dance marathon earlier in the day.
This year PHS students raised $30,340.09 during the Riley Dance Marathon Friday. PHS is proud of their hard work, perseverance and fundraising efforts! Plymouth High School administrators thank all of their staff members, parents, community members, local businesses and supporters who helped contribute to the success of the 2020 PHS Dance Marathon.
