Plymouth Community SchoolsThe Plymouth School Board granted permission to advertise for bids for the Lincoln Junior High Building Project. The vote of 5-0 was taken during the January 7 meeting.

Derek Anderson, project manager, said they would advertise for bids on February 4, open bids by the end of the month, and bring the bids to the board at their March meeting.

Anderson said awarding bids at that time would give contractors time to order their materials.

Included in the advertisement for bids is the demolition of the current Lincoln Junior High building. Anderson said, “Don’t be surprised if you get bids from pretty far away.” He said there are companies that specialize in demolition.

Anderson said they are close to putting permanent systems that have been installed on; however, there are a few parts of the project that could produce dust that would get filters dirty. He indicated that by late March, they would begin testing the kitchen equipment.

He said they are ready to put in athletic lockers, classroom cabinets, and planning for the installation of the gym floor.
