During the December 16th meeting the commissioners approved a purchase agreement for the 10.53 acres of land at the southeast corner of Pioneer and Jim Neu Drives.

The agreed to price is $25,000 an acre for a total of $263,500. The address for the property is 2809 Jim Neu Drive.

During the meeting, County Attorney Jim Clevenger asked for a motion to authorize Kevin Overmyer, President of the County Commissioners to sign the deed on behalf of the county for the sale of the property.

With the sale, the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation can now move forward with the next manufacturing center that will be funded partially with a $400,000 grant from the Regional Cities Initiative.

Jerry Chavez, President and CEO of MCEDC said the plan is to start construction of a 50,000 square foot building after the winter season.  The building will be designed with the ability to expand if the owner has interest in the future.

The county will not receive payment for the property until one of two triggers is reached, either a 3 year term or the sale of the property.
