County BuildingThe Marshall County Commissioners will convene for their first meeting of the new year Monday morning, January 6th beginning at 8:30.

Agenda items include reorganization of the board, department head appointments and appointments to various boards.

County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters will report on activities in his department and Jim Hulse will be back before the commissioners discussing jail rules with inmates.

At 9 a.m. the commissioners intend to sell 10.53 acres on the southeast corner of the intersection of Pioneer Drive and Jim Neu Drive to the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation.  Price for the land is $25,000 an acre or $263,500.  The address will be known as 2809 Jim Neu Drive.

Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel will request an out-of-state travel request and is expected to sign the 2020 Sheriff’s annual contract.  The sheriff will also present the contract with Quality Correctional Care for Medical services for this year.

The County Commissioners will also consider the second reading of the amendments to the Solar ordinance and new fee schedule with it.

Other items include the Attorney and Auditor’s Reports, an ordinance designating Marshall County as a Broadband Ready Community, the Title VI Nondiscrimination Implementation Plan and Policy and changes to the Personnel Policy Handbook.
