Graduation RatesThe IDOE (Indiana Department of Education) released the 2019 graduation rates on Tuesday, December 31. The state has been tracking graduation rates in depth over the last several years. Among other criteria, graduation rates factor into a school A-F grade.

Marshall County Schools faired well with only two of the local high schools ranking below the state average. The state average had a slight drop from the 2018 rates and the most current average is 87.3 percent.

John Glenn had the highest rate for the county coming in at 94.9 percent. Bremen was only slightly behind at 92.9 percent.

Argos, Plymouth and John Glenn showed an improvement from the previous year with Argos at 85.7 percent and Plymouth rates showed a growth of about a half percentage point to 92.2 percent.

Union-North had the lowest rate at 84.2 percent.

Culver, Bremen, Triton and Union-North showed declines.

The IDOE also tracks cohort groups of ethnic groups, those on paid or free/reduced price meals, and numbers of those who receive benefits that are unknown. Other areas broken down include those in general education and special education, and unknown; non-English Language Learners, English Language Learners, and unknown; and femaleand male students.

School demographics include public schools, non-public schools, traditional public corporation, and charter schools.
