M.C. Community Corrections Director Elected President of IACCAC

Ward Byers 12-10-19Marshall County Community Corrections Director Ward Byers was elected President of the Indiana Association of Community Corrections Act Counties (IACCAC) during the Annual Fall Conference in November.

Byers has recently served as President-Elect and has served on the Associations Legislative Committee where he testified numerous time during the 2019 Legislative Session on matters pertaining to Community Corrections. Byers also testified in November before the Indiana Jail Overcrowding Task Force when they met in Anderson, Indiana.

As President, Byers will represent Community Corrections Agencies throughout Indiana and work closely with the Indiana Department of Correction and the Indiana Legislature on matters concerning Community Based Supervision in Indiana.

Byer said, “It is an honor to be chosen by my colleagues throughout Indiana to represent Community Corrections and Community Based Supervision and the mission of IACCAC: To Promote and Facilitate the Professional Identity, Development and Enhancement of Community-Based Corrections.”
