Sherman Emmons DitchMonday the Marshall County Drainage Board rejected the only bid received to do maintenance work on the Sherman Emmons Ditch in North Township in the area of U.S. 6 and Oak Road.

The project was to work from the northerly bank and clean to the original bottom, approximately 4,740 feet.  The project also calls to debrush both sides of the ditch side slopes to the top of the bank.  Finally the contractor is to reestablish a 40 foot wide drivable work path along the north side of the ditch to be utilized for future maintenance projects.  The project had a May 15, 2020 completion date.

The only contractor to bid on the project was Langfeldt Excavating of Plymouth.  Their bid was $30,860.

County Surveyor Craig Cultice estimated the project cost at $26,000.  The Marshall County Drainage board granted his request to re-advertise the project.
