Annually members of the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) are asked to nominate up to four high school juniors as a means to recognize student academic and leadership skills exemplified during the first three years of their high school education.
Triton High School Principal Bob Ross announced that Class of 2021 members Madeline Ritchison, Jaelyn Bules, Parker Alford and Haley Rensberger were recognized as local Rising Stars.
Annually more than 1,000 students representing more than 250 high schools throughout the state receive this prestigious recognition. Rising Stars serves as a stepping stone for the students as a visibility means for scholarship opportunities should the students choose to continue their education following high school.
This year marks the 34th for the Rising Stars program throughout the stat.
