ArrestedPlymouth Police Officers were dispatched to the Saint Joseph Hospital on State Road 17 for the a report of a male subject who was fighting with people.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered that 30 year old Zachary M. Stults of South Bend was in the parking lot. While attempting to place Stults into custody he resisted law enforcement.

Stults was eventually placed into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. Upon further investigation it was discovered that Zachary Stults had battered a hospital security guard.

He was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Battery, Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct and held on a $4,500 cash bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
