Plymouth black metal sign 2019Last week the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety opened bids for the second round of 2019 Community Crossing funding for street and sidewalk projects.

In July the Board of Public Works and Safety approved submission of Ferndale Street from Liberty Street to East Street and Airport Drive.  In October the state awarded the City $114,910.47 in Community Crossing funds which require a 50% match.

Last week four bids were opened on the street projects during the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting. E&B Paving from Rochester presented a bid of $315,627.50 while Phend & Brown from Milford submitted a bid of $445,682.30.  Reith Riley out of South Bend offered the lowest bid at $283,668 and Walsh & Kelly also of South Bend had the next lowest bid of $292,296.70.

Rick Gaul, the City Engineer asked to have the bids taken under advisement for review with his recommendation to be presented at the next city meeting on December 9th.

These two projects are anticipated to be completed in the spring of 2020.
