A ribbon cutting and grand opening was held Friday for Cashen Creek Florist, formerly Felke Florist on South Michigan Street in Plymouth.
Recently purchased by Dan and Beth Cashen of Plymouth the couple retired from 40 years of farming a couple of years ago. After deciding they needed more to keep them busy they started growing cut flowers on some ground they kept when they sold the farm. Beth said she enjoyed growing things so they started a home based cut flower business, selling their beautiful flowers to the community at the Plymouth Farmers’ Market. There seemed to be a natural progression to purchase the former Felke Florist business when it became available and they would have another avenue to sell their home grown flowers to another groups of clients.
The Cashens have remodeled the inside and brightened it up and hope to renovate the greenhouses. They carry several lines of beautiful gift ideas along with floral arrangements for any occasion, plants and balloons.
Cashen Creek Florist is open Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 and Saturdays from 9 to 1.
