Bridge weight limitsJason Peters, Superintendent of the Marshall County Highway Department is educating citizens and emergency services of new signage they may notice on a few county bridges near them.

INDOT has mandated that counties post new weight limit signage on bridges where their load ratings may not be high enough for newer emergency vehicle weights.

This new mandate will effect five bridges in Marshall County: in German Township on 3rd Road between Fir and Grape Roads; on Fir Road between 6th and 7th Roads and on Elm Road between 6th  and 7th Roads.  In Center Township the Randolph Street Bridge between Baker and Becknell will be signed and in Green Township the bridge on 17B Road between Linden and Maple Roads will get the new signs.

Fire Departments may have to alternative routes when responding to emergency situations.

The new signs will show weight limits for 2 axel vehicles, 3 axel vehicles and 4 axels.
