Culver Little Town on Lake MaxinkuckeeCulver Town Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim is letting citizens know of several town board and commission openings.   Heim said, “This is a great way to serve the community as well as be involved in decisions that can craft the future of Culver.”

There are two openings on the Culver Plan Commission.  The seats are appointed by the town council to four-year terms. In order to keep the commission politically balanced per state statue, the appointees should be democrats or independents.

The Culver Board of Zoning Appeals has two seats open.  Filling these seats is done by appointed from the town council.  These are four-year terms.

There are five seats on the Culver Redevelopment Commission, two of which are appointed by the council president and the remaining three appointments are made by the council to one-year terms.

Finally the Culver Tree Commission has three seats open.  These three seats are appointed by the Culver Town Council to three-year terms.

In order to serve in any of these positions, you also much be a resident of the Town of Culver.  Descriptions of the board and commission responsibilities and a listing of those who are currently serving are available on the Town of Culver website.

Anyone interested in serving should fill out an application at the Culver Town Hall and return it by the December 31st  deadline.  The council will make their appointments at th January 14 meeting.
