The second annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Auction to benefit the Marshall County Neighborhood Center was held Thursday evening, November 7th at Wild Rose Moon in downtown Plymouth.
Executive Director of the Center, Chris Garner said, “We had a great time at our Auction! Lots of laughs and great coffee and treats are the perfect way to get in the Holiday mood!”
She thanked all who came, those who donated and those bought sweaters from the auction or sale of boxes which help off-set the cost of the food assistance. Garner explained that the Center’s cost for a box of food is approximately $20, so the boxes were sold for $20. She said, “When a client comes to the center they never know for sure what food items will be available so the boxes had and unknown item in them with a value from $1 to $50. Many items were donated from the community and included a roll of toilet paper manicures and gift certificates to area restaurants. Funds raised will kick-off the 2019 Christmas Assistance Program at the Center which last year served 225 families. The Neighborhood Center had set a goal for the evening of $2000, but when the evening ended they has raised $2,299.72!!
The Young Professional Network and Allison Stone a local Farm Bureau Agent sponsored the evening.
