arrested_handcuffsOfficer John Weir with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a white Honda Accord Saturday morning, November 2nd about 10:20 at Jefferson and 5th Streets.

After speaking with the occupants, when Officer Weir went back to this vehicle, the driver, 40 year old Timothy B. Taylor of Plymouth took off running and the passenger, 23 year old Matthew Heitkamp of LaPorte slipped into the driver’s seat and left the scene.

Radioing for assistance, Officer Weir took off after the vehicle while other officers looked for the suspect running from the scene.

Both suspects were taken into custody.  It was found that Timothy Taylor, the driver was Driving While Suspended and had an active Felony warrant out of St. Joseph County. He received additional charges of Resisting Law Enforcement and Possession of Marijuana.  He was held on a $2,000 cash bond.

Heitkamp was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Possession of Marijuana and held on a $1,000 cash bond.
