K_county SWAT in Etna Green

Shortly after 11:00 PM Saturday night, the Kosciusko County 911 Communications Center received a call regarding a shooting victim in Milford.  Emergency personnel responded to the scene and located Michael Reynolds, with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. Initially uncooperative, Reynolds eventually reported that he was involved in an altercation with Shawn McCrum, in Etna Green. Reynolds informed officers that he drove to Milford from Etna Green, after he was shot by McCrum.  Reynolds was transported by Lutheran EMS to a Fort Wayne hospital for the treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.

KCounty_Mugshot_McCrumLaw enforcement units proceeded to 228 E State St in Etna Green, which was identified as the incident location. Investigators were able to hear movement within the home, but were unable to get a response from anybody inside. Based upon the involvement of a firearm, the decision was made to activate Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office SWAT. On Sunday at 10:12 AM, SWAT initiated their deployment. After continued refusal to comply, SWAT officers breached a door and ordered McCrum out of the home. McCrum surrendered without further incident and was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.

The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office advises that the defendant’s charge (arrest) is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
