car-pedestrian-accidentA man from Culver was injured in a car verses pedestrian accident Friday night at the intersection of North Michigan Street (SR 17) and Washington Street.

About 7:30 Plymouth police were dispatched to the downtown intersection.  Officer Krynock conducted an investigation and   witness statements indicate that a vehicle driven by 40 year old Aaron Metzger of Walkarusa was traveling north on Michigan Street approaching the Washington Street intersection and had the green light.

The pedestrian, 57 year old Matthew Master of Culver was crossing Michigan Street at the south crosswalk.  Metzger swerved the vehicle but was unable to avoid striking Matthew Master.

Police had the roadway completely shut down for a short period of time as EMS attended to the injured pedestrian.

 

Matthew Master was transported by Plymouth EMS to the Plymouth Hospital.  He was not seriously injured in the accident.
