Crash_US30_King Road 10-11-19_3An Illinois driver running a red light at U.S. 30 and King Road struck a Plymouth Community School bus Friday afternoon October 11th. 

At approximately 3:57 p.m. the Marshall County Sheriff`s Department received several 911 calls regarding a crash at U.S. 30 and King Road involving a school bus.

Plymouth EMS, Fire, Plymouth Police, Marshall County Police and the Indiana State Police responded to the scene.

Crash_US30_King Road 10-11-19_2The investigation by Deputy Brown revealed that the bus, driven by Tammi Relos was crossing U.S. 30 north on King Road and was struck by a westbound passenger vehicle driven by Mohammad Said of Illinois, in the rear most passenger side of the bus.  Said had run the red light.

The bus was dropping children off after school and a few children received minor injuries.   No children were transported to the hospital from the scene.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured and was cited for disregarding the stop light.

Crash_US30_King Road 10-11-19_1The children were offloaded from the initial bus and placed onto a second bus for transportation. The bus was able to be driven from the scene.

Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
