Lightning UpgradeDoug Masterson head of the Marshall County Building and Grounds Department appeared before the County Commissioners Monday to discuss an issue with the county’s lightening upgrade project.

Masterson said he had received several complaints on the lights in the court house.  Work is not complete in Superior Court I and II.  He said the issue is the dimming controls which are older and trying to use new technology to mesh the two.

Last year in October the County Commissioners signed a contract with Telamon Energy Corporation to upgrade the lighting to LED in the County Building, Court House and Highway Department.

The installer from Telamon told Masterson it would be about 3 weeks before he could get back to work out the issues.

Commissioner Stan Klotz suggested having local electrician Jim Griewank look at the project and get it done.

Commissioner Kevin Overmyer said, “This has gone on way too long.”  He too was supportive of having a local company look at the project.

Masterson said the contract was for $73,000 and to date they have paid $57,000.   He also noted that the battery back up in the County Building hasn’t been completed and the outer-wall packs and high bay lights at the County Highway Department haven’t been completed yet either.
