U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (IN-02) on Monday led Republican members of the Indiana congressional delegation in urging Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill to ensure remains found on the Illinois property of abortionist Dr. Ulrich “George” Klopfer are handled according to Indiana laws requiring dignified disposition of fetal remains.
“As you well know, since 2016 Indiana has had a law, which was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court this year, requiring the dignified disposition of fetal remains,” the members wrote. “While it is not yet clear where the remains found on Dr. Klopfer’s property originated, there is no question these remains should be treated respectfully, and any remains determined to have originated in Indiana should be handled according to Indiana law.”
Walorski was joined by U.S. Representatives. Jim Banks (IN-03), Greg Pence (IN-06), Trey Hollingsworth (IN-09), Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08), Susan Brooks (IN-05), and Jim Baird (IN-04) in the letter welcoming a state investigation and requesting that Attorney General Hill keep the members apprised of any developments.

Dear Attorney General Hill,
We write to you regarding the horrifying discovery of more than 2,200 preserved fetal remains on the Illinois property of the recently deceased Dr. Ulrich “George” Klopfer, an abortionist who practiced for decades in northern Indiana until 2015. It is sickening to see such callous disregard for human dignity and the sanctity of life.
We welcome the coordinated investigation you announced with Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, and we stand ready to lend any assistance necessary. This gruesome discovery raises many questions, including when and where the abortions took place, how the remains were transported to the property in Illinois, what physical condition the remains are in, and whether any other individuals had knowledge of or bear responsibility for the preservation and transfer of the remains. Additionally, it must be determined whether any state or federal laws were violated.
