During the County Commissioners meeting Monday morning, State Representative Jack Jordan recognized Laurie Hayn for her bravery, courage and faith in the midst of a horrific tragedy.
On September 18, 2018, Laurie Hayn was tragically injured in a farming accident. She lost her left arm and leg when she was caught by one of the corn heads of a combine and pulled into the machine.
Culver EMS responded to the incident last year and attended to Hayn as she lay in the corn field. They spoke at the presentation saying they were shocked at how calm Laurie was during the whole ordeal.
The proclamation states that Laurie’s faith in God throughout this trail is an inspiration for us all in Marshall County. It also states that Laurie has been an important advocate for farm safety.
She was shocked at the whole presentation and received a standing ovation.
