Heminger House Logo 2018The Heminger House Shelter in Plymouth has announced a new executive director.

On July 22nd the Board of Directors vote Nichole Hicks as the next executive director.

Hicks started as an intern at the shelter in early 2015.  Being a survivor of domestic violence she wanted to help other women and children survive as well.  She was hired as a crisis worker and received her Associate’s Degree in Human Services in 2016.  Working to further her education in Human Services, Nichole received certificates for crisis intervention team and steward of children training.  Working her way up the ladder, in 2017 she became the non-residential case manager, a sexual assault advocate and in-house case manager.  In 2018 Hicks was promoted to house manager.

The Heminger House Shelter is Plymouth’s domestic violence shelter that is open 14 hours a day, 365 days a year.  They assist victims of abuse get out of dangerous situations.  They have a 24 hour crisis line that anyone can call when they are in danger and offer a 45 day program for residents who come to the shelter.
