arrested_handcuffsPlymouth Police Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Adams Street Tuesday, August 3rd about 9:30 at night for a battery that had occurred.

During the investigation, Officer Krynock found that the suspect 31 year old Ross Malott of Rochester had struck the victim on the head with an object.

Malott had fled the scene prior to officers arriving.  He was later located and taken into custody by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team.

Ross Malott was incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail on September 4th for Battery with a Deadly Weapon and held on a $3,000 cash bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
