MugShot_mckenzie cabanawOn Thursday, August 29th at 5:40 in the morning, Marshall County Police were notified of a possibly impaired red 2011 Toyota passenger vehicle traveling northbound on US 31 from State Road 10.

Officer Wozniak located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop in the area of US 31 and 9A Road. The driver of the vehicle, 26 year old Mckenzie C. Cabanaw of South Bend was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. There was also a small amount of heroin located in the vehicle.

Cabanaw was taken to the Plymouth Hospital for a certified test that showed her to have Amphetamine, Benzodiazepines, marijuana and opiates in her system. She was taken to the Marshall County Jail and processed for operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering, operating a vehicle with a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic drug.
