DrugArrestPlymouth Police responded to the report of a male subject that attempted to steal merchandise from Walmart and had fled on foot Monday afternoon, August 26th.

Just after 4 p.m. Officer Arnold located the male suspect hiding in the bushes along U.S. 30 near Arby’s.

The male subject was identified as 43 year old Robert Cumbes of South Bend.

Cumbes was taken into custody and incarcerated in the Marshall County Jail for Possession of a Syringe, Possession of drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, and Theft.  He was held on a $3,000 cash bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
