Vietnam Moving WallWednesday evening more than two dozen citizens attended a meeting in the Council Chambers of City Hall pertaining to the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall that will be in Plymouth in September.

The Moving Wall will come to Plymouth on Wednesday, September 11th.  It will be escorted into town by the Patriot Guard, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Plymouth Police Department and Plymouth Fire Department. It should arrive just before 4 p.m. on the north end of town and travel down South Michigan Street to River Park Square.

Thursday morning volunteers will gather at River Park Square and unload the wall and assemble it on the circle drive in the area of the Farmers Market.  Viewing of the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday and continue day and night, 24/7 until Sunday at 3 p.m.  There will be an opening ceremony Thursday night at 7 p.m.  On Friday evening at 7 a special ceremony will be conducted for Vietnam Veterans and on Saturday night there will be a ceremony to honor Emergency services.

It’s anticipated that thousands of veterans, their families, and the public will pay their respects during its time in Plymouth.   Volunteers will be available to assist people in locating a specific name on the wall from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and papers and pencils will be available for getting name rubbings off the wall.
