INDOT Road pavingRieth Riley Construction will begin the Community Crossings project on North Michigan Street Wednesday morning.    The project will mill off the top surface of the roadway from the Plymouth City limits north to Veterans Parkway.   It’s anticipated milling will be done on Wednesday and Thursday and then paving on North Michigan will be done on Friday and Saturday.

The contractor will have traffic control at both ends of the construction zone. Flaggers will be helping instruct motorists through the construction area.
County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters said, “In planning ahead for the next 4 days and to help minimize the traffic in the construction area drivers should consider taking an alternative route.”

While in the construction zone, drivers are encouraged to be alert, reduce speed, watch for the flagger instructions and be watchful of your surroundings.   Peters said, “During the milling and paving process there are a lot of things going on. With the equipment being used and as cautious as operators are, there are still plenty of blind spots.  Drivers need to use caution.”
