Members of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission received a brief update on the Aquatic Center project during their meeting Tuesday evening. Jerry Chavez, President and CEO of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation said the Susan Bardwell Aquatics Center is on schedule to open for the 2019-20 school year.
Nancy Felde asked about the completion time and Chavez said, “We are re-engineering because of conversations with a hotel developer.” He continued, “The vision was to put a hotel close to it and because of that, which is good news, we have to engineer something on out right now.”
Currently work is concentrating on the outside and will then move indoors for completion work. The pool deck will probably be poured the end of this week or next week and then there will be lots of finish work.
Chavez showed several pictures from the construction site including the canopy, box office, concession stand, locker room, shower room, restroom and mezzanine and pool.
