The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Watch for our area.

The National Weather Service has issued an “Excessive Heat Watch” for the entire area beginning on Thursday, July 18th and continuing through Saturday, July 20th.
An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Afternoon to early evening temperatures from Thursday through Saturday are expected to be in the 90s with heat indices from around 105 to 110 degrees.

Impacts from the high temperatures and excessive heat index include: Heat illnesses likely for those spending prolonged periods outside or in non-air conditioned locations.  Prolonged heat is most dangerous for young children and the elderly.  Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in minutes. extreme-heat
