On Sunday, June 30th at approximately just after 2 a.m. Plymouth police officers were dispatched to 203 North Michigan Street for a report of domestic situation where a male threatened to shoot the victim.
City officers arrived on the scene and it was later discovered that 33 year old Miguel A. Lopez of Plymouth had battered the victim, criminally confined her and threatened to kill her.
Lopez was later transported to the Marshall County Jail and he was charged with Domestic Battery, Intimidation, and Criminal Confinement.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
