Local News 2017Earlier this month the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved a memorandum of understanding between the Plymouth Police Department and the Plymouth Community School Corporation.

The MOU approved is for the 3-year renewal of the School Resource Officer with Plymouth Police Officer Bridget Hite continuing to serve in the position.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi said the contract is exactly the same except with an increase in the contract amount.  Surrisi said the rate has been the same since 2015 even though the city gave police officers a sizable increase in 2017 the contract amount didn’t go up.

The new 3-year renewal will be $37,000 while the previous agreement was $30,000.

The memorandum of understanding was approved by the board of Public Works and Safety with 3 members: Duane Culp, Shiloh Milner and Mayor Senter voting yes and Jeff Houin abstaining from voting because he serves as the attorney for the school corporation.  Bill Walters and Gary Cook were absent from the meeting.
