Early Wednesday morning, June 19th Sgt. Nick Laffoon with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two vehicle crash on US 30.
About 3:30 in the morning the Marshall County Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a two vehicle collision at US 30 and Plymouth Goshen Trail.
Arriving on the scene police found that 63 year old Gary W. Altheide of Culver was north bound on Plymouth Goshen in a 2006 Saturn and failed to yield to a 2012 west bound Volvo semi being driven by 27 year old john Hilworth of New Haven, IN.
Gary Altheide was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend by helicopter for injuries sustained in the crash.
The Marshall County Police Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Fire and EMS, and the Plymouth Police Department.
