ribbon cutting logoMayor Mark Senter announced plans for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for phase II of the Greenway Trail.

Mayor Senter, Park Superintendent Mike Hite and the Plymouth Park and Recreation Board invite the public to the ribbon cutting event in Gill Park on Monday, July 1st at 4:30 p.m.

The Greenway Trail originates in Centennial Park and wanders along with Yellow River through Magnetic Park and Founders Park.  Phase II brings the trail through Gill Park with a pedestrian bridge and ends at River Park Square.

In 2003 the City of Plymouth was granted a Transportation Enhancement Grant (TE Grant) for construction of the Greenway Trail.  In 2005 the city celebrated the grand opening of phase I of the trail.  In 2015 the city was awarded another TE Grant for phase II of the Greenway Trail and that grand opening will be on July 1, 2019.

The Greenway Trail promotes a healthy lifestyle, provides educational nature study, and is free and accessible to anyone at their convenience.  Eventually the city and park would like to expand the Greenway Trail even more…heading to Dixon Lake and making it a corridor to connect with Culver.
