Saint Michael School Student CouncilJunior Achievement Serving Marshall County hosted their 3rdAnnual JA Achieve-A-Bowl at Quick’s Lanes Thursday night. Saint Michael Catholic School held a school wide Penny War to support JA organized by their student council members. The school was able to raise over $860.00 and sent several teams to the Achieve-A-Bowl Event to celebrate their hard work.

Saint Michael Student Council representatives were awarded the Traveling Trophy for “Top Fundraiser” during the Family Friendly Hour of the event. Menominee Elementary was awarded the trophy for “Most Team Spirit.” During the Business Hour the “Top Fundraising Trophy” was awarded to Wiers and the “Team Spirit Trophy” went to the Culver Community Schools Gutter Girls Team for the second year in a row!

JA is a non-profit organization that offers financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education to students during the school day. JA trains community volunteers to share these important concepts using the materials JA provides. The students at Saint Michael had a lot to say in regards to what they appreciate about JA programs in their school. Gracie Kruyer said that “JA is a fun way to learn about finances.” Lily Payne shared that “JA has taught us the importance of personal finance.” Estela Mendez chimed in that “JA stands for Just Amazing!”
