The Plymouth High School Performing Arts Department will present the bi-annual Variety Show this weekend in the Plymouth High School auditorium. The theme for this year is “Hooray for Hollywood” and every performance in the show is based on the film and music industry.

PHS_VarietyShow_2This production is such a great showcase of the amazing musical and theatrical talents of our students. Every performance in the show is produced, written and directed by the students themselves,” said PHS band director Bryan Ames. “This show features everything from vocal solos, to dance numbers, comedy skits, and live music numbers featuring the band, orchestra and choir programs. The show involves nearly 200 students involved in music, theatre, speech, and stage crews.” The Hollywood theme is used throughout the entire production. “Audience members will be treated to skits and musical numbers based on popular movies, television shows, and even some well-known musicians. I truly believe this will be one of the best variety show productions our students have performed.”

PHS_VarietyShow_3At the conclusion of the show, the cast will be accepting free-will donations that will go to the “Bob Pickell Performing Arts Stage” that is being constructed at the Reese Theatre. “Bob was an avid supporter of the music programs in both our schools and community. Our students would love to support the efforts of the Reese Theatre in creating this new venue for performing groups in Plymouth,” said Ames.

The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. The box office will open at 6:00 p.m. and the doors will open at 6:30 p.m. to begin seating. All tickets are a general admission price of $7.00 per seat.
