Severe WeatherMarshall County Emergency Management Director Clyde Avery updated the chance for severe weather later today.

Temperatures today are expected to be in the 70’s before a cold front moves in later this evening brining a “marginal” chance for thunderstorms.  The risk remains low for severe weather with damaging winds and locally heavy rain being the primary threats.

East winds this morning are expected to be between 15 and 25 mph with gusts around 30 mph. Winds will become southeast this afternoon and are expected to increase to between 25 and 35 mph ith a few gusts as high as 45 mph for a few hours.

IMPACTS:  : Damage to trees may lead to tree limbs across roads, downed power lines causing power outages, and the possibility of trees or limbs into homes.
