Plymouth black metal sign 2019The Plymouth Common Council approved the annual agreement with New Avenues for an employee assistance program.  City Attorney Sean Surrisi said this is the third or fourth year the city has offered this benefit to employees.  He said it has been successful with employee utilization and the cost is relatively inexpensive for and additional employee benefit.

Members heard on first reading an ordinance that will control the permitting of wireless facilities and support structures in the public right-of-way.  While the ordinance was only scheduled for first reading, Councilman Gary Cook offered to suspend the rules and hear the ordinance on second and third reading but Surrisi said he expected some amendments to the ordinance that are still in the works.  The ordinance does designate the TRC (technical review committee) to serve as the city’s permitting authority.

The City Council also approved the request of the Kiwanis Club to fundraise at the corner of Michigan and Jefferson Streets on June 22nd and 23rd.  They will be accepting cash donations and handing out small bags of peanuts.
