Doug ThompsonLast week the Plymouth Plan Commission approved the request of Doug Thompson to split the property at 15101 9th Road and create a 2 lot minor subdivision.  One lot would be 6.14 acres while the second would be just over 5 acres.

City Planning Consultant Ralph Booker said the request was to divide off a wetland mitigation area.

Local farmer, Ron Hayn said they recently transferred a wetland to the existing site which sits immediately to the west of the home.  The work has been completed and he just wants to gain control of the site so no one can ever change it.

There was a letter of support for the property split from neighbors Robert and Donna Whitmer.

The Plymouth Plan Commission unanimously approved the 2-lot minor subdivision request.

The second request of the Plymouth Plan Commission was to amend the zoning ordinance to add several new permits that were not included when the ordinance was approved.  New permits not include in the current zoning ordinance include demolitions; fences, walls and hedges and roofs.  Booker said, “These permits are not listed under our improvement location permits.”

The action Tuesday evening will add the permitting process for demolitions; fences, walls and hedges and roof work to the zoning ordinance.
