County News # 1The request of Robert Bosco to connect the perimeter drain for a mound septic system was tabled by the Marshall County Commissioners on Monday.

Jason Peters, Superintend of the County Highway Department said Bosco is building a new home on Pine Road south of 1st Road and the only was the Health Department could give a septic permit was for a mound system. That mound system need a perimeter drain and a portion of that drain would sit in the county’s right-of-way and then connect up to a regulated drain.

With the Health Department working to address issues with e-coli in the waters, the commissioners were apprehensive of approving the request until they had confirmation from the Health Department.  They also had some concerns of having the drain in the county’s right-of-way and wanted to make sure that no water from the mound system would find its way into the regulated drain.

The commissioners tabled the request until their next meeting on Monday, March 18th.
