NewsThere were two other variance requests the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals handled Tuesday night that were much simpler.

Fast Rides at 1829 West Jefferson Street was seeking a Variance of Development Standard to replace an existing sign with a new electronic message center that will be larger than the city standards allow.

City Building Inspector Keith Hammonds said Norfolk Properties was before the BZA last year and received a variance for a new sign to replace the Auto Park sign.  He said the new sign was bigger than the variance they had received, “Basically they did not comply with the variance.”    The board took a bit more time to make sure the sizes in the variance granted were correct.

The second variance request came from Paul Hundt at 11120 & 11180 11th Road.  The Variance of Use was approved to permit a concrete production facility on the property at the northeast corner of 11th Road and US 31.  There were two letters of support including the adjacent property owner and a local concrete business.  Kuert Concrete will be operating the new plant.
