The Huffington Concert Series at Culver Academies will present “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein” by Aquila Theatre at 8 p.m., Monday, March 18.
The Eppley Auditorium production honors the 200th anniversary of “Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus,” considered to be the first true science fiction novel. Written by Mary Shelley when she was just 19 years old, “Frankenstein” still poses a myriad of ethical questions to this day.
Adapted and directed by artistic director Desiree Sanchez, Aquila’s production of this classic pays homage to Shelley’s original writing. The play caps off the Academies’ observance of the book’s publication, which included the opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to read and discuss it.
