Craig Cultice, the Marshall County Surveyor presented members of the County Drainage Board with his recommendations on maintenance assessments for 2019.
Cultice reviewed all the account balances for the maintenance assessments and recommended placing 26 drains on “non-collection” statue for this year. Those drains include: the Mechling-Brockey, Elliott-Stevens, Donnybrook, Lemert-Johnson, Eversole, McKesson, Flory, M Redinger, Richardson, W Robbins, Helpman-Hardesty, W Moore, Woodward, Casper-Huffine, Fanning, Downey, Elkins, Gjemre, Harmer, Leffert, Schroeder, Snyder-Carothers, Armey, Warstler, I Sells and Sarber-Pine Creek.
After reviewing the balance report Cultice told drainage board members there were several drain funds in the red. He recommended continuing or placing 63 ditches on an “active collection” status for 2019. Those ditches are: Anglin, Alderfer, N Berger, L Berger, Bohmer, Logan, Brock, Cowen-Lockwood, Dausman, Baker-Sarber, Marburger-Zeiger, Fletcher, Zechiel-Chapman, Heckaman-Jamison, Kuntz, Lemert-Powell, Buck (4), Johnson-Monroe, Milner-Seltenright, McGriff-Hooker, Newcomb-Eisenhour, Overmyer, Phillips-Horn, Berger-Snyder, W Morris, Seltenright, Stock-Heston, W Bunch, AA Thompson, Suseland, Kline, L Wilson, B Ballinger, Deep Main, Gall-Unsicker, Hershberger, Mentzel, R Martin, Martin-Border, Mattern, Metheny, Morgan-Ward, Outlet Arm, L Pontius, Porter, Spencer, Stephey, Bowser, Crauder, Knoblock-Bellman, Pfiefer, Fouts, Stillson-Myers, Seltenright, Woods, Ballinger-Myers, Emmons, Mattingly, Parker, Worsham, York, Troup and Yellow River.
There are also 14 ditches or drains that are joint with other boards. The drainage board will receive written confirmation from those counties regarding the 2019 collection status.
In Fulton County the Terry ditch, Reister, Fulton/Eddy (5 sec’s) and L Zechiel.
In Kosciusko County those joint drains are: Danner-Lemler; S Sechrist; Swick-Meredith; Faulkner and Welch
St. Joseph County: Pittman, E Bunch
Starke County: House/Culver; House/Union; Robbins (4 Cty)
