Pilot News buildingCindy Stockton, Publisher of the Pilot News announced Monday evening a major change in the way the newspaper is delivered.  The change will happen later this month.

The Pilot News is partnering with the United States Postal Service for same day delivery to their local subscribers.  Stockton said the transition should be seamless.

Mail delivery of the newspaper will begin on Monday, February 25th.  When the mailman delivers your mail they will also deliver that day’s Pilot News.  That means on Monday the mailman will also deliver Monday’s paper, on Tuesday it will be Tuesday’s paper and so forth until Saturday when you will receive the weekend edition.

Stockton said many customers will receive their newspaper earlier than they do now and assured those who get their paper from a machine or racks that they will be there earlier too.

The publisher continued, “We have been very lucky over the years to have worked with a number of independent contractors who took pride in their customer service and most of them will continue to deliver The Shopper to your door each week.”  Stockton said their partnership with the post office will provide them the best option to continue to deliver the paper in a timely and cost-effective method that guarantees a daily delivery.
