brown-bag-lunch-series-freeThe Marshall County Museum is excited to announce this year’s Brown Bag Lunch Series.

The second Friday of each month at noon the museum hosts an interesting speaker to enlighten citizens on a variety of subjects.  The Brown Bag Lunch Series kicks off on March 8th with local architect and historian Kurt Garner.  Garner’s topic will be “Off to the Poor Farm: A 150-year Commitment to Care.”  On April 12th, Sue Irwin from the County Museum will entertain with “Marvelous Marshall County: Thought You Knew It All.”  The May 10th Brown Bag features Bruce Johnson whose talk will be “Hoosier Sports Legends.”  On June 14th Rachael Phillips will talk “Erma, Amish and Pirates, Oh My: A Writer’s Journey.”

The July Brown Bag Lunch event will partner up with Encore and present, “50 Years Since the Moonwalk.”  This will be held on the 12th at the museum in downtown Plymouth.  The August 9th lunch series features Deb Parcell and you will learn more about “Hidden Gems: Landmarks in Marshall County and Indiana.

Bill Snyder is back for the September Brown Bag with “Diggin’ Marshall County: A Mammoth Discovery.”  Another local historian, Jeff Kinney from culver will be the featured speaker on October 11th.  Jeff’s talk will be “Daniel McDonald: Marshall County’s Original Historian.” In November the museum will take a break and not host an event and then the December 13th lunch time event will again feature Kurt Garner.  This time Kurt will talk about the “Battle of the Bulge: A Local Soldier’s Story at the 75th Anniversary.”

The Brown Bag Lunch Series begins promptly at noon and is completed by 1 p.m.  Bring your lunch if you like and learn a little something at the Marshall County Museum.
