On Monday, U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) will honor Hoosier veteran Joseph Steenbeke of Culver and welcome home Tess, the bomb-sniffing dog Joe was partnered with in Afghanistan. Joe this weekend officially adopted Tess, a Belgian Malinois, nearly five years after their deployment ended. Walorski worked to ensure Joe would be first in line to adopt Tess after Joe’s wife Stephanie contacted the congresswoman’s office last year.
The event is being held in Congresswoman Walorski’s Mishawaka office at 10 a.m.
