Plymouth Color Logo2014Monday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and safety awarded the bid for the 2019 Spring Street and Sidewalk projects.

Two weeks ago bids were opened from five companies.  Low bidder was Walsh & Kelly from South Bend in the amount of $635,829.60.  Other bidders were E&B Paving of Rochester for $784,194.25; Niblock Excavating from Bristol for $ 720,260.00; Phend and Brown from Milford for $ 858,183.90 and Rieth-Riley Construction from South Bend for $ 699,462.45.  The Board of Public Works and Safety awarded the bid to Walsh & Kelly at the recommendation of City Engineer Rick Gaul who reviewed the bids.

Gaul said the projects which include: Randolph Street from Jefferson to Baker Streets; Stanley Drive from Hehr Lane to Jim Neu Drive; Walnut Street from Jefferson to Monroe Streets; Madison Street from Plum to Center Streets; Kingston Road from Pennsylvania Avenue to Jefferson Street; Lemler Lane from Michigan to Bayless Streets; and Chester Street from Clinton Street to Oakhill Avenue.

Monday evening Gaul said he expects the state to finish processing the agreement with the city in February.
