Plymouth Color Logo2014Nearly a year ago, Plymouth, Marshall County and a good portion of Indiana experienced a major flood event.

The City of Plymouth worked with FEMA and presented a request to be reimbursed for the damages, debris removal, emergency protective measures and administration costs totaling $144,818.

Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver said the city has been notified that they will receive $107,081.37 from FEMA.  That breaks down to $79,060.42 for debris, $11,475.43 for Wastewater Transportation damages, $11,446.41 for emergency protective measures and $5,099.11 for administration.

The clerk went on to say, “The difference between what the city requested and what we are receiving includes several items that were disallowed.”  Those items include the contract with Heavy equipment Response Coalition, the traffic signal at Pennsylvania and Michigan Streets, various sidewalk repairs, the fence and damages at the Dog Park and valve box covers.

While the city has been notified of the reimbursement, they have not yet received any funds from FEMA.
