Mayor Sentor_2019 candidatesWednesday was the first day for candidates to file for city and town municipal offices for the May Primary Election.

Several current Republican office holders from the City of Plymouth filed first thing Wednesday morning.  Mayor Mark Senter will seek his 4th term while Jeanine Xaver will seek her second term as City Clerk-Treasurer.

Also filing were Duane Culp who is seeking his third term for the District 1 seat.  Bill Walters is seeking his first full term on the City Council as an At Large seat.  He ran in 2015 for an At Large seat but was defeated by Gary Cook.  He was selected to fill the seat vacated when Mike Delp resigned his position to accept his County Commissioner seat in 2017.   Randy Longanecker is also seeking his first full term on the Plymouth City Council in District 4.  Longanecker filled the seat of Shawn Grobe when he resigned because he moved out of the city limits.

Mayor Senter said he anticipates a full slate of Republican candidates for the municipal election.

All seven seats on the Plymouth City Council are up for election and so are three At-Large seats on the Argos, Culver and LaPaz Town Councils.  There are 4 At-Large seats on the Bremen council and two on the Bourbon Town Council.

Clerk Treasurer positions are also up for election in Argos, Bremen, Bourbon, Culver, LaPaz, and Plymouth.

Candidates have until noon on February 8th to fill their intentions in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office.
