marijuana bust 12-19-18On Tuesday, December 18, a California man was arrested during a traffic stop on US 30 in Marshall after Indiana State Troopers discovered 160 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.

According to Trooper Dave Caswell, he stopped a black 2018 Dodge Caravan around 4:10 p.m. for a moving violation as it headed eastbound on US 30, just east of Iris Road in Plymouth.

While speaking to the driver of the Dodge, identified as Tony Lim, 68 of San Gabriel, CA, Caswell was suspicious of possible drug activity. Caswell had his K9 partner, Chase conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle.  A search of the Dodge was conducted after Chase alerted to the odor of narcotics and troopers discovered boxes containing vacuum sealed packages of suspected marijuana. The total weight of the marijuana is approximately 160 pounds with a street value of approximately $300,000.

Lim was arrested for preliminary charges of Dealing Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana and taken to the Marshall County Jail.

Caswell was assisted by Lt. Chad Larsh, Trooper Tim Carpenter, and Trooper Chris Eagles.
