County News # 1The Marshall County Commissioner were presented with a proposal to have a complete appraisal of all the county owned buildings.  During the commissioner’s meeting on Monday, Mike Miley, Insurance consultant said he received 4 bids in September to do the appraisals.  He narrowed it down to two and then selected Industrial Appraisal Company.

Miley said while working on the renewal process it was discovered that 4 buildings at the County Highway were not covered under the current policy.  He also suggested adding the two memorials at the Court House and the Chief Menominee Monument.

Adding the additional properties increased the proposal from $4,690 up to $4,990.  Miley said for an additional $1,860 they would complete a modeling for what’s inside the buildings.   He also said they would do an annual update for another $300.

Miley said the last time the county’s properties were appraised was September 2001.

The commissioners will take action on the proposal after the first of the year.
